A huge thankyou to everyone who came by for our Grand Opening last Friday! We had such a great time meeting everyone and sharing our new space with those who stopped by! It was wonderful to see some familiar faces, as well as some new ones. With the help of a few friends, we sewed up a whole bunch of totally adorable little dresses for Africa, too. (Not to mention, ate wayyyy too many mini cupcakes! ;))
We have been continuing to work hard at The Atelier Stitch, receiving some new retail items over the past week and starting some new projects. We received in some unique buttons (all the way from Slovenia!), trims, and threads! Giselle will be there this week, from 11am-5pm, working with some jersey knit and other goodies! If you stop by, she will even treat you to a cup of tea! (You should see the awesome skirt and dress prototypes she whipped up over the weekend…)
I will be teaching the first beginner’s quilting class this coming Saturday – there are still a couple of open spots, so if you are interested please contact the shop to register! (Check out the quilting classes link at the top of the page to see the schedule.) We’ll be working on a patchwork table mat/mini quilt, and the kit we’ll be working from is included in the class cost. Here is a work-in-progress photo of one I made recently!
We hope that you’ll join us soon for our upcoming Open Sew, which is basically just a hang-out session for everyone to visit and use our machines for free to work on your own projects (without instruction). Maybe check out some of our craft books, while you’re at it! More info/times coming soon on the Open Sew!! — And if you haven’t already, be sure to LIKE us on Facebook, to stay up-to-date on all of our happenings!
See you soon,
